First Tooth

Brother Bear has his first tooth coming in! We are very excited to see that pearly white peeking up out of his bottom gum. I have been feeling both babies' gums for a while now, looking for that first tooth, but this one just popped up Wednesday morning with very little fanfare. He seems to be dealing with the process rather well. He only gets fussy with it at night. He loves to have his gums rubbed and chewing on teethers is a favorite pastime now of course. He also will grab your hand and stuff your finger in his mouth and chomp down on it while shaking his head back and forth, leading me to call him Baby Shark Mouth. Pretty soon I will break out the baby safe feeder with some frozen fruit. I hope he will like it. If you click on the pic to blow it up, you can see his wee little tooth.

Brother Bear and Small Bear are getting so big. We weighed Brother Bear the other day to check how long we have before we have to move him to the next car seat, and he is 19 whopping pounds. His infant carrier when he is in it is so heavy that I can no longer carry him with one hand. His carrier is only safe up to 20 lbs, so we ordered new seats. You'll see a blog about that pretty soon.

Both Brother Bear and Small Bear are rolling around quite a lot now. They still get stuck sometimes on their tummy and cry for help. Brother Bear has started sleeping on his tummy all the time now. The other morning I found him with his face straight down on the mattress with his nose all smushed up. I tried to move his head to a better position, but he just moved it right back. How can that be comfortable? He sleeps with his Flatopotamus tucked under his cheek. Small Bear prefers to sleep on her side when she is not on her wedge. She also loves to smush her Flatophant up against her face and nose. Sometimes I find her chewing on its trunk. Pretty soon she will be too big for the sling on her wedge and we will have to move her to the bed or order a new sling for the wedge. The Flatopotamus and Flatophant were stocking presents from Santa. They are just the right size for a baby's lovey and no small parts that can be pulled off.
